Nokia N96 Now Compatible with Amazon Video On Demand

The Amazon Video On Demand service isn't just for your PC any more. The new Nokia N96 is now the first mobile phone added to the stable of portable devices compatible with the TV shows and movies purchased and downloaded from the Video On Demand store. Unfortunately, this doesn't do away with your PC completely--you still need to download the portable version of your purchased video file and then transfer it over to the N96.

To celebrate this new functionality, Amazon is offering $9.95 worth of free downloads from the Video On Demand store (through December 31; see details here) with the purchase of the much anticipated, mobile multimedia powerhouse N96, which is now available for purchase as an unlocked phone (meaning you can use it with any GSM carrier, such as AT&T or T-Mobile). For more on the N96, check out Amazon's product page as well as these very detailed reviews at Phone Arena, GSM Arena, Mobile 88, and CNet UK.
